The Center for Excellence (CFE)

The Center for Excellence (CFE) was established to support the top level QA administration of Assumption University (i.e. the QT 4 Team) with the development and management of the AuQS 2000, the university’s Quality Management Systems, both in the academic and in the non-academic office sphere. To this end, the Center works closely with the Faculty Deans and with the Administrative Office Directors who sit on the QT3 teams as the ex-officio chair of their respective academic or administrative units (the QT 2 and QT 1).

CFE Mission

To achieve the philosophical cornerstones and objectives of the university and the CFE's vision the CFE has defined its very reason for existence through the following mission statements:

  1. The CFE will maintain a leadership role in the forefront of QMIPS (Quality Management, Information and Planning System) implementation in the university, in the country and in the region.
  2. The CFE will conduct on-going researches to identify the state-of-art quality management systems and quality indicators and academic standards for educational institutes.
  3. The CFE will conduct on-going development of the QMIPS of the university to maintain a top-class quality management system appropriate to the university on par with international standards.
  4. The CFE will develop and maintain the AuQS 2000 QMIPS as the quality management system of university for the successful implementation by the Academic and administrative units.
  5. The CFE will disseminate information pertaining to quality assurance and develop the human resources in the academic and administrative units to deliver on education excellence to the stakeholders.
  6. The CFE will support the academic and administrative units in their successful implementation of the AuQS 2000 QMIPS in their respective units.

More specifically the responsibilities of the Center for Excellence are:
  1. To support the QT4 in the implementation of the QA activities university wide based on the policies as instituted by the QT4,
  2. To be the chief liaison and conduit amongst the various stakeholders; the internal (QT4, QT3, QT2, and QT1 and various academic and administrative units) and the external (CHE, ONESQA, business units and students)
  3. To provide QA guidelines and self-assessment check lists for the various internal QA levels,
  4. To liaise, assist and monitor the activities of the QT temas (QT3, QT2 and QT1),
  5. To take care of the QA MIS data bases and the QA filing systems,
  6. To analyze and to "mine" the QA activities in order to identify the SWOT of any academic and administrative units for further actions, development and continuous improvement,
  7. To produce the IQA institute report for QT4 and submission to CHE and ONESQA,
  8. To develop and provide internal and external QA training through training courses, seminars, workshops etc.
  

The Center for Excellence is located in the Hua Mak Campus on the 2nd Floor of the P-Building. The functionaries currently attached to the CFE are:
